An extraordinary place: a thriving town centre with world class cultural and sporting venues, and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on its doorstep. It has as an array of shopping, restaurants and places to enjoy with busy train and bus stations at its heart. It has grown into a vibrant, exciting and culturally diverse place.
The train and bus stations are some of most used in the whole of the UK. They have been essential to the success of the town centre. However increasing numbers of people are using the stations and the town centre which puts it under a lot of pressure. Many local residents and businesses also don’t feel they have sufficiently benefited from the recent changes in Stratford.
Since 2021 Newham Council have been working in partnership with London Legacy Development Corporation, Transport for London and Network Rail to think about the future of Stratford Station and the surrounding area..
We spoke to you in September 2021 and we heard that many people would like to see improvements. We know there are some measures needed right now to improve the train station and we are working on these. We are also developing ideas about the longer-term future of Station Quarter from 2030s onwards. We would like to know what you think about these ideas.
