WHAT WE'RE THINKING

1/2

WE ARE MOVING

We have been thinking about ideas for improving the train and bus station facilities.

You told us that you would like moving around and between the train and bus stations to be more enjoyable and a more accessible transport interchange; better connections to help you find your way around, alongside better lighting and toilet facilities; and more support for walking and cycling as well as making it easier to catch a bus or train.

This is an illustration of what the future could look like:

  1. An improved bus station
  2. A new ‘Station Square’
  3. A direct connection to Carpenters Estate
  4. A new station entrance
  5. New homes, commercial, retail and community space
  6. Improvements to Great Eastern Road

WE ARE IMPROVING

We have been thinking about ideas for bridges, streets and open spaces.

You told us that you would like more seating and places to spend time with family and friends; reduced pollution and improved air quality, as well as a clean station environment with more trees and plants to support wildlife; moving around the station and surrounding neighbourhood to be easy if you are cycling or can’t use steps; and the station, surrounding streets and spaces to be enjoyable at all times of the day and across the year.

This is an illustration of what the future could look like:

  1. A new ‘Station Square’
  2. A direct connection to Carpenters Estate
  3. A new Southern Ticket Hall
  4. New homes, commercial, retail and community space
  5. A new bridge to connect Meridian and Station Square with the cultural, educational and sporting facilities in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

WE ARE GROWING

We have been thinking about jobs, shops and homes.

You told us that you would like Stratford to continue being a thriving town centre, and enjoyable for everyone across the year; more independent shops, food markets, and cultural events to experience; and opportunities for people to learn new skills, access jobs and thrive.

This is an illustration of what the future could look like:

  1. New homes including affordable homes
  2. Commercial space including space for affordable start-ups, co-working and local entrepreneurs
  3. Retail space to complement town centre uses
  4. Community space
